Your car takes a wider tyre on the back, so these come as a set — the same make front and rear, priced for all four fitted. Pull the shelf along for more.
OE for your car first: the sets Mercedes approved for this car, the mark on the tyre wall says which. Then the rest, best grade first, no maker twice in a row.
What’s the BMW star (★) on a tyre?
BMW’s approval. A star on the tyre wall means BMW tested that tyre for your model — around 50 checks, from grip and braking to wear, noise and high speed, well beyond the EU tyre label.
Not the law. A tyre without the star, in the right size and rating, is safe and legal and passes the NCT.
Why it matters most on xDrive (four-wheel drive). The front and back wheels are driven together, and the drive system allows only a tiny difference in how far each tyre travels per turn. Star tyres are made to BMW’s own measurements so all four roll alike; two tyres with the same size printed on them, from different makers, can differ by a few millimetres.
So on xDrive, keep all four the same: star on all four or none, and the front and back within about 3 mm of tread of each other. Mixing them is what wears the transfer case — and BMW dealers check it before a transfer-case warranty claim.
What we do. BMW’s star sets come first. The others fit and perform fine as a full set of four, and on xDrive we never fit a pair against star tyres on the other axle.

Why it’s first: MO — Mercedes-Benz: Mercedes Original: developed with Mercedes for the model's weight, steering feel and noise — the casing and compound are matched to the car's suspension settings, so it drives as it was signed off. On a 4MATIC the mark keeps the axles' rolling circumference matched for the centre differential. The approved sets come before the rest.

Same tread both ends — the front carries MO (Mercedes-Benz's approval mark) and the rear carries * (BMW and Mini's approval mark). The mark says which carmaker signed that tyre off for its own cars; the tyre underneath is the same pattern, so the two run together without issue.
⚡ Electric specif yours is electric or a plug-in hybrid, this is the set to have — it carries the battery's extra weight, rolls easier for more range, runs quieter, and copes with the instant pull of an electric motor. On a petrol or diesel car the standard set does the job.

Approved for BMW and Mini (*) — a different maker's fitment spec, not the Mercedes MO mark. It's the right size and rating, and fits and performs fine on this car; Mercedes's own approved sets are listed first.
